The Background
An international drilling company operating in the North Sea had an issue arise on a drilling asset concerning damaged multicore cables. The cables, associated with the Hydraracker unit and the rotational drag chain, were causing operational issues.
Due to their extensive experience installing, maintaining and replacing hazardous area cabling equipment, Dron & Dickson were approached to consult on a solution.
Dron & Dickson’s highly trained technicians, after an extensive survey, ascertained that incorrect initial installation had caused damage to the cables during normal operation of the drag chain.
